Cost Reduction Examples
CASE4 Extended life and recycling of hydraulic
operating oil and lubricating oil
Customer Concerns
- To reduce grease purchasing costs, industrial
waste-product treatment amounts, and treatment
expenditures - Extended updating period for hydraulic operating oil
Present state
Oil must be completely replaced at one-to-two and a half-year cycles in equipment
such as presses or ejection molding equipment or the like.
This places a heavy financial burden on the company.
- A Company hydraulic equipment
[Press machine: 12 system, ejection molding
machine: 6 systems]
Cost per one replacement of the total amount
(when targeting approx. 10 systems) - Amount and cost for new oil: Approx. 5 L x ¥250 = ¥1,250,000
- Amount and cost for treating waste oil: Approx. 5 L x ¥5 = ¥25,000
- Labor costs: ¥30,000 x 4 man-hours = ¥120,000
- Spare parts and incidental costs: One set = ¥20,000
- Total: ¥1,415,000
Our proposal
-
- Greatly reduced costs
by recycling oil! - Greatly reduced the costs for purchasing new oil and for treating waste oil by recycling oil.
It is preferred to prevent trouble in hydraulic equipment and to extend machine life.
Recycling and filtering contribute to energy conservation and power conservation.

At a minimum, it is necessary to brush the inside of the tank.
If possible, we recommend brushing the pipes and hoses.
